Back to school essentials: Whats in my bookbag!

Sorry for not posting in so long. First I have been on vacation, and recently I have had some major writers block. I decided to get some inspiration from my friend, Sam's, blog (sorry if its similar) and write about back to school. No one likes going back to school, but one thing to make that worse is not being prepared for going back. I decided to help with your back to school preparation I would tell you what I keep in my backbag!

1: First you have to start with your backpack. You don't want to buy a cheap backpack, and have it break or tear during the school year. All my siblings and I have always had Northface backpacks, and they are super comfy! They can be expensive, but don't automatically get the cheapest one because the more expensive ones can hold more. I have the Recon and love it!

2:You have to stay organized throughout the school year! I am not one to put my whole life into an agenda, but once you start taking harder classes you must keep up with the homework! Agendas can be crazy expensive if you want to get the big brands like Kate Spade or Lilly Pulitzer. I have never been one to spend that much. I always go to places like Target or Office Depot where you can find cute agendas with out spending so much.

This cute chevron agenda is under $20
3: A water bottle is a must for me! Being a athlete I always try to stay hydrated throughout the day! I prefer using Camelbacks they are easy to use and don't spill. They come in all different colors, and on Etsy you can even order a monogramed one! For mine I put different stickers I had collected on it like stickers from Vineyard Vines, sports teams, or other brands.

4: Make sure to keep your backpack stuffed with writing utensils! I like writing in pen and partially in color. Writing in color always seems to brighten up even the most boring topics! I try to skip to one color for each class so I know which notes are for which subject. I like Sharpie pens because they are like fine tipped markers, but they don't bleed.

5: Now I am just going to list some essentials you just want to have handy!
  • Deodorant- Sounds strange, but you never know when you might need it especially if you have a gym class. You could also pack a perfume.
  • Band-Aids-Sounds like a mom sort of thing, but emergencies can happen
  • Charger- If your like me your phone is a life line, so make sure it is always alive.
  • Headphones- Some teachers are cool enough to let you listen to music while doing work so be prepared.
  • Gum- No one likes smelly breath
  • Make-up- whether you keep just some powder and concealer to touch up or even some eye make-up you always want to make sure you can look your best.
You might have some of your own items that you need to bring, but this is what you will find in my backpack! I thought I would leave you with some tips to follow for the school year!

Tips:
  1. Plan your outfits the night before ( especially for the first day)- avoid spending extra time choosing what to wear. I already have my first day outfit and its a week away.
  2. Check the weather- you don't want to show up to school one day to find it rain later that day. Be prepared if it is suppose to rain bring a rain jacket or a small umbrella you can put in your backpack.
  3. Don't wait to do your home work in the morning- you can try to wake up earlier in the morning to finish those last minute assignments, but it never works out as well as you think because who really likes to wake up early?
  4. Know where your classes are before school begins- You may know your school, but you don't want to look like one of those little freshman getting lost. Know exactly where your classes are and try to figure out the fastest routes between classes, so you won't be tardy.
  5. Try out new clubs and activities- Its the easiest way to make new friends.

Lastest Obsession: Cute Work Out Clothes

Playing two sports, swimming and lacrosse, kept me constantly on the move. I have always been one to workout in baggy sports tees and norts, but recently I have taken a liking to cute athlete clothes to hit the gym in or just to wear as a relaxed outfit. Everyone has those days where you bum your self down in workout clothes, but you don't have to compromise comfort for a cute style. Stores like Athleta and Lululemon sell cute athletic clothes with a high price. Though some clothes you wear a lot are worth the price always look out for sales. Always look on websites like 6pm, Dicks sporting goods, and Eastbay for good brands like Nike and Under Armour. Also look to see if there are outlet malls in your area because many have Nike or Under Armour stores.

Nike Element Shield Jacket is perfect for chilly temps.

Tip: Sports bra may be super comfy, but more times than not they will leave you super flat chested. To avoid that try to find a sports bra with a light amount of padding in it. They are still really comfy, but they add that little bit of a boost to avoid those flat chested moments. I really like Under Armour ones like this one.
